What an AdBlue specialist actually does

An AdBlue warning is a symptom. The cause is almost always one part in the SCR system. A specialist finds that part instead of guessing.

SCR stands for selective catalytic reduction. It is the system that injects AdBlue into the exhaust to cut harmful NOx. Because several sensors, a pump, heaters and a dosing injector all work together, one weak link can trigger the same dashboard message as another.

That is why a proper diagnosis matters. It stops you paying for a tank or injector when the real problem is a cheap connector.

  • Reads the real fault data

We connect diagnostic equipment that reads live data and manufacturer-level codes. A basic code reader often shows only a generic code. The full picture tells us which part and which circuit is at fault.

  • Tests the sensors

NOx sensors and the quality sensor are checked against what the engine is actually doing. A sensor that reads wrongly is replaced. A sensor that is fine is left alone, so you do not pay for parts you did not need.

  • Checks dosing pressure

We watch the pump build pressure and the injector spray. A weak pump, a blocked injector or a leaking line each leave a different pattern in the data.

  • Tests heaters and wiring

Tank and line heaters fail often, especially in cold weather. Wiring near the exhaust also corrodes. We test both before we condemn a larger part.

  • Fixes the failed part

Once the fault is proven, we repair or replace that part at your vehicle. Then we clear the codes, run the system and confirm the warning has gone for the right reason.

Why repair beats delete

Some people search for a delete because they want the warning gone fast. We do not do it, and for most drivers it is the worse option.

A repair solves the problem once and keeps the vehicle legal. A delete only swaps a dashboard warning for legal and financial risk. If you run a business, one failed inspection or refused claim can cost far more than the repair would have.

  • It is illegal on the road

Removing or disabling AdBlue or SCR on a road vehicle is illegal in the UK. The law treats it as tampering with an emissions system.

  • It can fail the MOT

Inspectors check emissions equipment. A vehicle with a disabled SCR system can fail, and then it cannot legally be driven on the road.

  • Insurers must be told

A change like this has to be declared to your insurer. If it is not, a claim can be refused when you need it most.

  • Warranty and resale suffer

A modified emissions system can void a manufacturer or dealer warranty. Buyers and finance companies also look for it, so resale value drops.

  • The fault is usually one part

Most AdBlue faults come down to a single sensor, pump, heater or injector. Fixing that part costs far less than living with the consequences of a delete.

Areas we cover

We work across London and the South East. A callout window is up to 3 hours from when you lock the slot, where a van is free. Find your area below.

Price from £249, no fix no fee

You know the cost before we touch the vehicle. We agree a fixed price first, and if we do not fix the fault you do not pay.

Work starts from £249. That covers diagnosis and the first repair step, and a NOx sensor job starts at the same figure.

Where a bigger part has failed, we publish the part prices so there are no surprises: an AdBlue tank is £795 and an AdBlue injector is £750. Labour is quoted after diagnosis, once we know exactly what the job involves.

We are open 6am to 9pm, 7 days a week, including bank holidays. Call 0203 038 8555 or message us on WhatsApp on 07719 156806.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an AdBlue specialist and a normal garage?

A specialist sees SCR faults every day. We carry the diagnostic equipment, test the individual parts and repair at your vehicle. Many general garages swap parts by guesswork or send the vehicle away.

Are you qualified?

We are IMI affiliated, which means we are linked to the Institute of the Motor Industry. We have also been fixing AdBlue faults since 2019, so we have over 7 years of hands-on experience.

Will you delete my AdBlue system?

No. Deleting or disabling AdBlue on a road vehicle is illegal in the UK. We repair or replace the faulty part so the system works as the manufacturer intended.

What if you cannot fix it?

Then you do not pay. Our price is agreed before work starts and we operate on a no fix no fee basis.

Do I need to bring the vehicle to you?

No. We come to the vehicle, whether that is a driveway, yard, depot or roadside. In London and the South East, a callout window is up to 3 hours from when you lock the slot, where a van is free.
