What a London callout looks like
Most London jobs happen on a street, in a yard or at a depot. We plan around that, and we bring what we need to finish the repair on the spot.
When you ring, we ask for the make, model, year and the message on the dash. We also ask where the vehicle is and whether it still starts. That lets us arrive prepared and keeps the visit short.
Street parking and tight spots
You do not need a driveway. If the vehicle is parked legally and we can get safely beside it, we can work. Tell us about any permit bays, height barriers or gate codes when you book.
Depots and yards
For vans on a site, we work between shifts where we can. Give us the vehicle registration and a contact on site, and we can look at several faults in one visit.
Traffic and timing
London roads are unpredictable, so we never promise a fixed arrival time. Instead you get a 3 hour window from when you lock the slot, where a van is free.
Why city driving hurts SCR systems
Short journeys and stop-start traffic keep the exhaust cool. At low exhaust temperatures, AdBlue does not burn off cleanly and crystals build up in the dosing area. That blocks injectors, upsets NOx readings and sets off warnings.

ULEZ and your AdBlue system
London's ULEZ covers the whole of London, and has done since August 2023. Diesels need to meet Euro 6 to be compliant.
On most Euro 6 diesels, the SCR and AdBlue system is what brings NOx emissions down to the legal limit. If that system fails, the vehicle is no longer running as it was approved to.
Compliance depends on the standard the vehicle was approved to. So the sensible route is to repair the system and keep the vehicle as approved and running clean.
Disabling SCR is illegal. It also leaves a Euro 6 diesel no longer working as approved, which is the opposite of what you want in London. We never do it. We fix the part that has failed.

Will a broken AdBlue system affect my ULEZ compliance?
A working SCR system is how most Euro 6 diesels meet their NOx limit. Repairing it keeps the vehicle as approved. We do not disable SCR, as that is illegal.
