What clearing an AdBlue countdown costs

The countdown is a symptom. The price depends on what caused it.

Parts prices shown below. Labour charges are quoted on approach after diagnosis (POA). Fixed total price given before any work starts. No fix no fee on the agreed outcome.

  • Diagnosis and straightforward fix: From £249 Wiring, fluid, resets and faults with no new part. Countdown cleared and verified.
  • Caused by a NOx sensor: Parts from £249 + labour POA
  • Caused by the injector: Parts £750 + labour POA Clean and flow test tried first.
  • Caused by the tank, heater or pump: Parts £795 + labour POA

Why the countdown starts

The ECU starts a countdown when it sees an SCR fault it cannot ignore. It shows miles or starts remaining, and at zero the engine will not restart. Topping up AdBlue only fixes it if the tank was actually empty.

The most common causes we fix are NOx sensors, crystallised injectors, pump pressure loss, failed tank heaters and contaminated fluid.

Call before it reaches zero

A countdown at a few hundred miles is cheaper and easier to deal with than a van locked out on a customer's site. Enquire now and we give you a free quote straight away. In London and the South East we aim for a 3-hour callout where a van is free.

The price does not go up because it is urgent. You get the same fixed total, agreed before any work starts.

Cost questions

How much does it cost to fix an AdBlue countdown?

From £249 for diagnosis and a straightforward fix. If a part is needed, you get the parts price and labour as one fixed total before we start.

Can you just reset the countdown?

A reset without fixing the fault will come back. We fix the cause, then clear and verify the countdown.

Is the quote free?

Yes. The enquiry and quote are free with no obligation.

My van will not start. Can you still help?

Yes. We come to the vehicle. No-starts and low countdowns get priority.

Do you charge more for urgent callouts?

No. The fixed total is agreed before work starts, whatever the urgency.
